Big Sister had a track meet today! And it was oh so hot!! The 800 meter event is one of the last events so it is usually about four hours or so into a meet. I know one thing. We are not prepared for sporting events at all. And if she continues to run, we are going to get prepared. We are going to get a shade tent, cooler, and some new chairs and we'll be ready for these long, hot days.
In the meantime, we'll just look cute and shade ourselves like this...
And we'll be sure to take our sunglasses!
This is the first time Jonathan and The Littles got to see Big Sis run. It was good for Curly and Little Man to see what this running thing was all about. And they were so cute and such devoted fans. She was cheering, "Go ------" the entire time and he was saying, "Run, run, run". It was awesome!
She stayed right with this girl the first lap like her coach told her to.
(Look at her long stride!)
At almost the end of the first lap, he told her she was running at a great pace and to pass her. And off she went!
And by the second half of the next lap, she was way ahead of her!
(See the other girl back there by the arrow.)
She had such a great run today and finished the half mile in her best time yet, 3.12 minutes! We're really proud of her for being committed to her team. She could have been somewhere else today, but decided to stick with her team commitment.
She is an athlete and a hard worker who always gives it her best!
(Check out the definition in her legs!)
These two stinkers were so hot and tired. They decided to sit down with the big umbrella and wait until it was time to go home.
And when we got home, we realized that a little leprechaun had come and turned our applesauce GREEN! Little Man saw it and said, "What this kind? Applesauce?" and Curly said, "I don't think I like this kind." After the shock wore off, they both ate it and loved it!
Happy St. Patty's Day!
