Our track star had her first meet yesterday!
Here she is with her best friend before the meet began.

We were there for four hours before her first event. And these two thought climbing, running, crawling, nearly falling in the stands, and eating pistachio shells off the ground was a ton of fun! They wore us out!
After three hours of waiting, they went home with Daddy and I stayed to watch the events. AJ ran the 800 and came in 13th place out of 23 girls. Not too shabby for a beginner, huh?
(She was going so fast the camera wouldn't focus! No, it was just thrown off by the bright lights and we weren't allowed to use flash.)
Shortly after that was her relay event with three of her teammates. They each ran a lap.

And I just have to add this picture of her cool new shoes!
She was so awesome! We are so proud of her for jumping right into something new and giving it her all. She has had many days of extremely sore muscles and pain with the tendonitis in her foot and she kept plugging right along. So exciting and definitely something she'll look back on with great memories!
