What a shame to be blessed with curls like this!
Everywhere we go people comment on her hair and she often asks, "Why do people say things about my curls?" I tell her they are beautiful and so many people wish they had curls and I try to point out other children and adults with curls too.
Well, she is determined that she can straighten them out. She is always trying to brush her hair and "get her curls out". The other day she was supposed to be napping and I found her in her bathroom with her hairbrush. She was really proud of herself! She came out of her room, sat down on the couch and told me that she brushed all of her curls out.
And this is the end result...

The other night after we washed her hair I told her I'd dry it for her and then I straightened it as best as I could. It wouldn't straighten very well, but she thought it was great!
It was so strange to all of us - like looking at a different person!
I figured I better tell her before she went to sleep that it wouldn't last very long. Before bed she said, "I know when I wake up in the morning God is going to give me curls again."
