We could not be more pleased with Curly Q's swimming experience this summer! Miss Stephanie was a wonderful teacher and exactly what she needed.
She came a LONG way! From sitting on the steps and not putting her face in the water at all to this...
She can go underwater to pick up dive sticks!
She can float on her back!
She can swim to the side and reach for the ladder with help.
She falls into the pool, gets herself to the top of the water, and swims to the side with some assistance.
As part of her lessons, she had to memorize this verse:
God says, trust me in times of trouble and I will rescue you and you will give Me glory.
Psalm 50:15
I think these lessons were the turning point for her. She now knows that swimming can be fun and she is losing her fear of the water. We'll definitely be seeing Miss Stephanie again next summer!
