End of January

Well, this month just came and went!
Here's how we spent the last few days of January.

At storytime last week, we had a tea party and Curly and Son thought it was great!
She told her sister that night that they had a tea party at storytime..."a REAL tea party, a REAL LIVE tea party, not a fake one." I think the most exciting part was that they used real tea cups.

Friday we went to the tiny tots session at the skating rink with some friends. They let the kids ride tricycles, ride on toys, or bikes with training wheels on the rink. They also have a huge play area which was where my little ones spent their time. They climbed up to the top of this huge structure and then slid down on the slide.

Yes, that's my boy on his way down the slide. He is fearless!
This will be a great thing to do in the winter months. And there was hardly anyone there! Even better! Definitely the best $8 I've spent in a while. Curly said if I ever want to go again she thinks her Dad will give me $8 to go.

My friend, Sheree, and her boyfriend, Jeremy, came to visit us. It was great to see Sheree and to finally meet Jeremy! We all went to the park for a little while Saturday morning, but it was so windy and cold that we didn't stay long.

We took them to Marietta for dinner Saturday night. Everyone loved the food. I had a stomach bug all weekend so I watched them eat great food while I ate plain bread sticks. Such a bummer!

Jeremy and I had talked during the week because he planned to propose to Sheree while they were here. After dinner, we surprised Sheree and sent them on a horse and carriage ride and Jeremy proposed on the ride.

When they came back to our house, we all celebrated and had cake.

And here's a close up shot of her gorgeous ring, a sapphire with diamonds - just what she's always wanted!

It was fun to be a part of such an exciting time for them! I'm so happy for them. Sheree has wanted a long time for a husband and she has found a great guy. They're a great match!
Let the wedding planning begin....
