{ Trip to the City }

               Yesterday, the Big Sis and I took a day trip - just us!
 There are things we always want to do, but don't do much because it is hard with the little ones. One thing is just looking around stores. That rarely happens! We seem to operate on a timer and have to hurry through shopping trips because it is just a matter of time before someone has a meltdown. And once the meltdowns begin, it is downhill from there. So, we tackled it all in one day, at our own pace, doing what we wanted to do!

We started off at Hobby Lobby. LOVE that place! Then we had lunch at Olive Garden. We were stuffed and definitely needed to walk off our lunch. We headed into the city and went to IKEA. That place is so awesome, huge, and overwhelming all at the same time.

AJ loved this bedroom

and this chandelier...
(It's made of paper - so neat!)

And being the mechanical girl that she is, she had to push this around the store.

I went there looking for this frame and found it. I was hoping the price tag would be lower than $30 though. Someday, I am going to get this frame, paint it a neat color, and then paint the glass with chalkboard paint.

And as if we weren't tired enough, as we were leaving IKEA we saw this and had to go in.

A very modern Target right in the middle of the city. It was BIG!
We were trying to waste time and wait until 7:00 pm to leave so the rush hour traffic would die down.  AJ is so predictable! After she shops for a while she always does the same exact thing.  She says, "I'm done! I'm done! I'm ready to go" and then she starts trying to sit down anywhere she can. At one point, she was sitting on the floor of the aisle in Target, then she was trying to sit on my cart, then she was sitting at a table at Starbucks. She doesn't care where she is, she is just done and wants to sit down.

And after all of that, we got to drive home in this...

It was a fun day! We need to do that more often! Just getting out with her by myself, listening to what she had to say, going where she wanted to go, listening to the music she chose, really did give me a glimpse into her life. It was good for us!
